The Huffington Post reported on Wednesday that Wesley College’s independently- run student newspaper, The Whetstone, recently published two racially offensive cartoons.

The first cartoon depicts a black woman saying, “Would you look at the time… I’m late for my abortion”.

The second cartoon shows a gardening how asking a black man, “Who is you calling a hoe?”

While some students found the cartoons to be funny, a majority of the student body considered the images to be racist and sexist.

Due to the negative response of the published images, the administration, as well as the newspaper that published the cartoons, held a forum on Monday, addressing the issues surround the controversial images.
