Early Saturday morning, Abby Bruce, a student at the University of Mississippi posted a Facebook message alleging Sigma Chi’s involvement of sexual harassment at Derby Days.

The annual philanthropic event hosted over one thousand people, as sororities competed for the attention of fraternity members.

During the event, Bruce claims that several of the fraternity members ask, over a microphone, unsolicited sexually aggressive questions towards the Derby Day Queens chosen by each sorority.

After being shared more than one thousand times, university officials opened an investigation on the events that occurred.

While many sorority members have be advised to comment on last weekend’s event, Sigma Chi’s president, Clay Wooley has attempted to use the recent attention as a way to start a dialogue, and “take this event, and make it better going forward.”
