A new report released by the Institute of International Education found a dramatic increase in American students leaving the United States for college.

Between 2000 and 2014, the studying reported that there has been a 72 percent increase in U.S. study abroad students.

A similar study found that attendance rates in other countries have risen by more than 450 percent from 1975 to 2012.

Many believe that the rapidly increasing numbers are due to the fact that college tuition is so much more affordable overseas.

With that being said, the recent terrorist attacks in both Paris and Brussels are predicted to decrease study abroad participation.
