Thursday night, Americans gathered around their televisions in order to watch the first one-on-one debate between Democratic Presidential Candidates Hilary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
One of the topics discussed during the night’s events was the highly publicized release of Clinton’s private emails in March 2015.
When moderator Chuck Todd explained how the issue continued the plague her campaign, Clinton assured the American people that the emails that were released were not classified.
“Before it was emails, it was Benghazi, and the Republicans were stirring up so much controversy about that,” Clinton said in response to her actions following the attack against the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012.
Noticeably refraining from the opportunity to attack Clinton on the issue, Sanders stated that “There’s a process underway. I will not politicize it.”
